Now THIS is an amazing combination of four simple things! I was pretty sure that it was going to be fantastic, but then again, I’ve been wrong before. Not this time.
A fresh baguette, soft goat cheese, flavorful strawberries and a balsamic reduction. OK, so I threw in a little fresh black pepper.
This is the simplest of recipes, but the combination is both gorgeous and delicious. On a few of the slices, I did add a drizzle of the pistachio oil from last week – totally unnecessary. Perfect as is, served with a nice crisp white wine.
This was a great late afternoon treat in the garden, watching the birds and enjoying our handiwork. Bravo, Dorie!
Perfect to nibble on in your beautiful gardens…and love that you added some pistachio oil. We do have quite a supply, don’t we???
Brilliant idea to drizzle the delicious pistachio oil! I love the garden shot. Looks beautiful. I so love gardens.
Beautiful shots! I think I also just enjoyed the way these LOOKED so wonderful on their plate. That is always a plus when it comes to these simple type of appetizers. The oil drizzle! Of course! Why didn’t I think of that!? 🙂
Very genius to add some of that oil as well.
Lovely garden!
What a great idea for a light snack during these hot days! Looks perfect!
Wow I want to have cocktails at your house? Where do you live? Don’t say Brazil.
Sedona Arizona. 🙂

Wonderful idea to drizzle some pistachio oil on this…It was great by itself, however you kicked it up a notch! Will have to give that a try. Lovely photos! Have a lovely weekend!
Great nibbles for garden relaxation!
Nice use of the pistachio oil! I found this to be a lovely way to enjoy a summer’s day, too. I might have to have a little more this evening…
ooh, i wish i had wine when i greedily ate my tartines. i was so smitten by the combination that i did not even think of pouring myself a glass.
Agreed. I just got back from buying more strawberries and goat cheese so that I can have this again for breakfast tomorrow. Yum!
Your garden looks lovely! I’m going to have to go for more fruit and bread so I can do it all again:)
We just had more last night. Yummy!
Candy, beautiful ripe strawberry slices on top of your wonderful tartines with such a delicious and pretty drizzle of balsamic reduction on top – so nice that everyone seemed to have enjoyed this simple recipe so very much! Lovely presentation in the garden on that nice tray!
Have a good Sunday!
I too am ready to show up in your garden for a plate like that 🙂 Wasn’t this a lovely combo ?? We went nuts in this house and I am just delighted that it will be so easy to whip up repeats. Gorgeous photos too ! Tricia
Bravo, Dorie, is right. This was a wonderful recipe that, I hope, will just keep giving and giving you many late afternoons of enjoying the beautiful Sedona landscape. And, the birds (I’m a Birder.) Love that area. Love the thought of pistachio oil.
Love your photos, just looking at them makes me feel relaxed and ready to sit back and enjoy a delicious dish 🙂
I love hanging out in the garden to enjoy all the work accomplished! 🙂 and what a great dish to do that with!
